Deceased Brothers Mass – November 2013

This year’s Circle Mass for Deceased Brothers was held at Holy Souls Church in Acock’s Green on Friday the 8th October and was attended by 21 Brothers (35% of Circle) and 16 wives and widows.

Mass was said by Fr Dan Oryema, assisted by both Fr David (PP) and Fr Craig, and Father Dan gave a most interesting and informative sermon. The organ was beautifully played by Siobhan Brassil to accompany the (excellent) singing of the Brothers and Wives present. After the Mass, we all (including Fr Dan and Fr David) moved to the Holy Souls Social Club next door, and had a lovely meal provided by our ladies on the traditional “bring and share” basis, one highlight of which was the delicious Bengal Prawn Curry and rice prepared by our youngest wife, Sumi Roberio, who actually wasn’t present as her husband Ron had flu. A great night was had by all present, in the traditional Catenian way.

Thanks to all the Brothers, Wives and Widows who made the effort to attend.

The photo below (taken in Holy Souls Church) shows most of the Catenians who attended, together with Fathers Craig, David and Dan on the altar at Holy Souls.
