Clergy Night The ‘Reverend Dozen’

North   Warwickshire Circle held their annual clergy night after their November meeting and were delighted with the positive response from the clergy to their invitation.

Twelve members of the local clergy attended, who in turn represented eight local parishes.

Circle President Kevin Doherty said ‘this has been the best response to our invitation to this annual event in our Circle’s calendar for many years and gives us an excellent opportunity to build and develop the bonds between the Association and the Clergy.

After a very enjoyable meal, the clergy, guests, visitors, and Brothers of Circle were entertained by a Balloon Debate.

FLYING HIGH! – North Warwickshire circle’s Balloon Debate

The debate was organised by Bro. John Lloyd, and the four Catenian ‘Balloonists’ were; Bro. John Hase as Richard Branson; Bro.
Philip Rogerson as Benjamin Franklin; Bro. Ian Swancott as Dame Judi Dench and Bro. Sean Higgins as Giuseppe Garibaldi.

Brother Philip Rogerson of North   Warwickshire Circle found that his alter ego – Benjamin Franklin, was left to fly high into the sky,

when he was voted to be left in the balloon as part of the Circle’s Balloon Debate which formed the entertainment following the dinner which took place after their meeting on 11th November last.

Brother Philip was the only one of four candidates voted not to be ejected out of the balloon, by the audience following impassioned individual appeals to be allowed to stay in the balloon, and was declared to be the winning ‘Ballooning Brother’
